Yoga means Union with God.
All existence come from God, while the Atman is God within the human body. Whenever a person connects themselves to God there is a Union between Atman and God, this person has attained Yoga. A person who attains yoga enjoys peace within and all kinds of sensory bonds vanish. Feeling all the Divine’s presence in all God’s creation.
Cater Marga Yoga – Four Paths to Yoga
Most people when they hear the word yoga, think of asanas or poses for the physical body. There are four paths of yoga in Hinduism called Catur Marga Yoga. Catur means ‘four’, Marga means ‘path’ and Yoga means ‘unity or oneness with God or the True Self’.
The four main paths are:
- Bhakti Yoga – the path of devotion
- Karma Yoga – the path of action
- Rāja Yoga – the path of self-discipline
- Gyāna or Jňāna Yoga – the path of knowledge/wisdom
Yoga Asanas
Yoga is a good form of practice to harmonise the system of the physical, mental, emotional, pyschic and spiritual aspects as well. Yoga asanas are taught by the students of Ashram Munivara. The style of yoga at the Ashram focuses on Surya Namaskar combined with Kundalini Tantra Yoga and other forms of yoga asana’s.
