YOGA CLASSES

Weekly Yoga classes on:

Monday, Wednesday & Thursday at 5pm located at the Ashram Yoga shala

Price : Visitors 50,000rp per person, In-house 35,000rp

  • Yoga classes can be cancelled if lack of numbers or public holidays
  • It is best not to eat food at least two hours prior to the class
  • Yoga clothes of any style accepted or comfortable clothing
  • Yoga mats are supplied
  • Classes are around 1hour 15 min to 1 hour 30 min.

EVENING PUJA

Event: Full Moon, New Moon Puja & Kliwon Days based on the Balinese Calendar.

Time: Puja starts around 7/ 7:30pm and finishes usually after 10pm

Dress code: Sarong, Sash and top covering shoulders (preferably white)

The Ashram disciples dance and chant the sacred songs of Jnana Buda Siwa as well as do prayer with short meditation. If you wish to join our Puja and you are a new visitor please come to the ashram shop to pick up a sarong ( 20,000rp rental) or sarongs are also available to purchase. Please request guidance into the ashram or e mail us.

ANNUAL EVENT

JULY ANNIVERSARY

There are a series of ceremonies held during our Holy Month of July which celebrate Jnana Buda Siwa at Ashram Munivara. Annual Anniversary celebrations for Jnana Buda Siwa at Ashram Munivara are held every year on the 9th, 10th, 11th, 13th and 17th July.

Dress code: Ashram dress code is required as it is a formal event. On the 13th July it is a yellow dress code as a symbol of the Divine Mother.

Guided program

A guided program schedule for student house guests can be arranged by request. This  includes practices taught in Ashram Munivara such as Walking Meditation, Chanting, and Japa Mantra. Walking Mediation is performed using mala beads and circumambulating the grounds of the Ashram whilst chanting “Om Namah Shiva Ya”.

This may not available during large events or during Ashrams anniversary celebrations.

SARASWATI

PUJA SARASWATI : Check calendar for dates

Saraswati is celebrated over 3 days. First is Saraswati the main celebration day, followed by Banyu Pinaruh which is a spiritual purification bathing day, 3 days after this is Pagerwesi. Pagerwesi represents protecting the knowledge within oneself. Saraswati is held every 6 months on the Balinese calendar. At Ashram Munivara we celebrate Saraswati together on Banyu Pinaruh and Pagerwesi only. The Saraswati holy day is celebrated at each persons home or village.

NYEPI DAY OF SILENCE

Nyepi is a day of silence and the Balinese New Year.  All across Bali its a time to stop all regular activity and to reflect, meditate or at least stay indoors. At Ashram Munivara we practice the Nyepi day with Silence, fasting and meditation to honour this silent day annually around March.
Nyepi Retreat:  March 
The Nyepi Day consists of one full day of silence (no talking, reading or writing), fasting and meditation on the Nyepi day, the following morning at the Ashram we hold Agni Hotra (fire puja) at 5am and closing of Nyepi.
